Types of Countertops

  • Natural Granite

Granite is the signature rock of Planet Earth. It’s made up of large mineral grains found in every continent and is actually mostly found only on this planet and no other one in the Solar System. A beautiful sight that makes granite the favorite of many and is.
Granite is colored, igneous rock that’s easily visible for the human eye. A granite is formed from the slow crystallization of magma below Earth’s surface and it’s mainly composed of quartz, and a bit of felspar.
Granite is a “renewable” resource as it takes thousands of years to create. Granite countertops can last a lifetime and they do not contain harmful chemicals. If you’re looking for sustainability then granite countertops are perfect for you. Granite is heat resistant. A granite counter will not melt or blister if ever exposed to heat. Very few minerals are able to scratch granite, as it scores a seven on Mohs scale of hardness. But it is a bit porous, so some oils and spills might do some damage in the long run.
Natural granite will certainly give your home or any space that soft touch you may be looking for.

  • Quartz

Stain resistance, durability, and style make quartz a great countertop choice. Quartz is manufactured material created using crushed quartz crystals combined with pigments and resin, replicating the look of natural stone with patterns of flecks and swirls. The appearance of the surface depends on the size of the quartz granules. Unlike natural stone slabs, quartz countertops have a non-porous surface that resists scratches and stains. Because it’s polished during fabrication, engineered quartz doesn’t need to be sealed. Quartz is heat resistant, but not as much as granite. Extremely hot pans or materials can damage quartz over time. With quartz countertops, you don’t have to worry about impacts, this is a material that can absorb substantial impacts and exhibit greater durability to cracking compared to granite.
Quartz can compliment any kitchen with its exceptional durability and aesthetic look.
